I have seen MULTIPLE posts of people ripping on will.i.am’s new song with Chris Brown; “Let’s Go” ripping off Arty & Mat Zo’s “Rebound”. Things like:
Okay, so, will.i.am samples a song for his song. The fact of the matter is literally EVERY major recording artist has sampled other people’s work. I am not defending him as an artist, but people that are ignorant of the music industry and insult someone because they realize one track. “Stealing” and “Sampling” are two totally different things.
And if it is because lack of crediting Arty & Mat Zo, to reiterate, almost every artist sample other peoples work with lack of credit. Pitbull and Flo Rida being some of the worst offenders. Did you know Ke$ha’s hit single “Take It Off” samples the melody of an old French nursery rhyme? Did she credit that song? Nope. It is irrelevant. Just because will.i.am is using the beats of someone else’s less popular work and making it more popular should only give reason to people to check out Arty & Mat Zo’s work. If anything they would be getting more attenion from his sampling. You reading this right now might make you go listen to it, and therefore the service is already done.
Lack of permission is one thing. I agree compensation should be made to them, but people ripping on his production skills and saying he stole it because he sucks is stupid.
So there. He didn’t steal it. Sampling is a major part of the music industry

Icona Pop

Ready For The Weekend
Ever since I heard their song “I Love It”, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the duo known as Icona Pop. They have a great sound. Mixing dance music with their high shouty vocals, it makes for some great anthem type music in my opinion.
The track starts off with some church like chants of the two saying “grab somebody gooooo and live it upppppp”…at first you are like wtf is going on. I don’t like gospel. I r confused. Then the Skrillex sounding mega high pitched voice comes in to replace it
GRAB SOMEBODY GO LIVE IT UPPPP
GET READY READY READY FOR THE WEEKEND.
Here is a visual representation of what is felt in this transition:

The intense house break comes in soon following the two shouting gleefully over the beat. The song just sounds epic as fuck. To quote their last single...I LOVE IT! I DONT CARE. I LOVE IT!
Watch out for Icona Pop. The blogosphere is paying them some due respect, they very well could blow up. Ill be like

Remember liking Icona Pop is legal on other planets.
This is too perfect…in this press conference, Yolanda Be Cool is a public total recall of their VASTLY overplayed track, “We No Speak Americano”, for the reason that it has been played to absolute death. Just incase people and DJ’s alike were upset they released an absolutely FILTHY track on their website to fill the void that won’t be missed in my opinion.
“Before Midnight (Angger Dimas Remix)” is available off their website:

Pick it up; you wont be disappointed.
Ke$ha
Pop
Die Young
YES.
IT
IS
HERE.

The world premier of Ke$ha’s “Die Young” and to no surprise, it is pop gold. Complete with cheesy guitar in the chorus, a fun synth to accompany the verse, and then an even funner dance break after the chorus. From the snippet I heard, I was hoenstly worried about this track, but it sounds like classic Ke$ha. Fun. Upbeat. Party music for the youth of Amurrrica.
I feel unstoppable listening to this kind of track. I can go out and sing to this track like:

This record is a good way to kick off the 2012-2013 reign of Ke$ha over the pop charts. However, she will be competing with Bajan Badass, Rihanay and her 800th single this year, “Diamonds”.
I HEAR YOUR HEART BEAT TO THE BEAT OF THE DRUMS.

OH WHAT A SHAME YOU CAME HERE WITH SOMEONE.

This track is gonna be massive. Find me in the club like

Controversy
Oh my fucking christ. The return of Natalia Kills.

With Natalia’s last album being nothing short of audible perfection, I was geeking out at the trailer for this track. It is WAY better than I could have ever fucking DREAMED.
Starting off with a static sounding voicemail from some dumb bitch, the super hot, hard, and fast beat comes in. The fact that Natalia has the balls to make such a different type of track is what makes me love her. This track has elements of industrial and old style electronica.

Natalia spits out arbritrry words and phrases that are controversial subjects. With no rhyme or reason, to the order of the list, there are
NO
FUCKS
GIVEN.

DRINK THE KOOLAID
DONT DRINKT THE KOOLAID.
CONTROVERSY.
UH HUH.
The video itself is also insanely dope and unique. Natalia never disappoints with her videos being fucking amaze balls 2013. Maybe it’s because hers are slightly dark in their message. She is such a bad bitch, she doesn’t even need to lip sync in the video. She just slowly rotates and stares into your fucking SOUL. This only makes me more excited for her new album. The amount of love i have for her is insane.

Best line of the song though.
“What the fuck you looking at? This ain’t high school pussycat. Looking down my shirt like it’s Disney Land. You waiting for fast pass.”

Karmin
Pop
Hello
Many of you probably already know Karmin at this point with their Billboard hit “Brokenhearted”. Here they are with their music video to their second single “Hello”. Just as catchy as the first, but with more rap skills from Amy Heiderman (weird that her name isnt Karmin, I know).
Amy clearly is fed up with men
Too nice (she likes bad boys)
Too clean (dirty boys)
Too white (black guys)
Too mean (i said bad not mean)

I clearly include way too many spongebob gifs in my reviews nbd.
This chorus also features vocals from the other half of the duo Nick, which if you only know “Brokenhearted” you probably didn’t know Nick existed since he doesnt sing in that track.
Amy also lets bitches know how dope she is.
“Momma told me go and chase what ya after. Im on track so I’m gonna rap faster”
And I cant lie, she can spit lyrics pretty well. Dont underestimate the white girl. Her rhymes make more sense than any of Nicki’s new raps too.

ARE YOU A BELIEVER?!
The Veronicas
Pop, Electronic
Lolita
Uhm…new Veronicas…?

Taking my earbuds by shear surprise, The Veronicas drop a fast paced electro banger. The sisters vocals never disappoint, nor does their extremely unique production. Infusing rock and electronic music has always been the sisters strong suit. This track is more on the electronic side, but is still amazing.
“Im your lolita. La Femme Nikita. When we’re together, YOULL LOVE ME FOREVER”

The 135 bpm kick drum booms in over some wild synth. The melody for the chorus is the same as SOME remix I have or heard, and I cant remember for the dear life of me. It is the most annoying thing ever. I’ll probably eventually find it, and at that time, I will mash them up. If you recognize it and know it, I’ll love you forever if you tell me.
I can’t help but realize how demanding the girls are in this song. Practically belting out YOULL LOVE ME FOREVER. They be sounding a tidbit cray.

Either way, this track is bomb.com. It is the first single off their new album tentatively titled “Life On Mars”. Check it.

…….

HEAR THAT? YOU SHOULDNT. CUZ ITS MY HEART STOPPING.
No Doubt releases the album cover for the first official single set to release July 16th. The album cover makes me feel like I’m back in the 90’s, and I love it. Gwen Stefani. All hail you and your blonde hair made of pubes of angels, you flawless diva from Flawless City, Divandia.
