NO NOT THE MOTOR BIKE.
Okay, so this track is by far not new. However, I discovered this today, by suggestion of Kerli when we went to dinner Saturday. Yes, you heard me right. I was at dinner. WITH KERLI. I’m still geeking out about it. No big deal.
OMFG. I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR KERLI GIFS, AND THERE ARE ALL THESE GIFS OF US ON STAGE FROM PRIDE SATURDAY. IM GEEKING OUT.
LOOK AT ME FIST PUMPING WITH KERLI.
LOOK AT IT
LOOOOOK AT IT.
I WANT ALLLL OF YOU TO LOOK AT ITTTTTT
Lambretta was formed in 1993, without the lead vocalist, who later joined the group. This track was one of their singles, and is definitley getting added to my Break Up Playlist, because
A. It’s badass
B. I giggled at the lyrics
C. Girl rock.
The track itself is interesting in terms of composition. Hard power cords laced with vinyl scratches that remind of of Kid Rock’s style. Meshing elements of hip hop into rock. However, singer Linda Sundblad is anything but hip hop. Swedish badass belts about needing to know shit her boyfriend isn’t willing to provide.
WHO’S SHE LOOKING GOOFY IN A GUCCI DRESS?
WHICH BONE IN HER BODY SHOULD I BREAK FIRST. THAT BIMBOS GOTTA. GO!
This song takes me back to when I first started becoming obsessed with girl rock. It has classic elements of a hard rock song, and a message we can all relate too. Killing your boyfriends new bitch. I know I can.
This Party’s On Fire
Okay, so. HIDDEN GEM ALERT. Jada is a 4 woman strong girl group based out of…BOSTON?! WHERE I LIVE? WHERE HAVE I BEEN? IM UPSET. Of course I had their previous single “American Cowboy” straight up CHILLING in my iTunes since it came out last June. I’m so upset with myself.
Jada just released their new EP Supersonique complete with 5 tracks, and 2 extended edits. Their lead single is “This Party’s On Fire”. The vocals in this group are INTENSE. They’re so pop friendly, with goddess anthems waiting to happen. I can see drag queens going HAM to tracks like these.
Lyrics include fun pop gold as the group belts “AYE AYE AYE THIS PARTYS ON FIRE. THIS JAM IS KICKING UP THE HEAT. AYE AYE WE BURNIN THIS HOUSE DOWN, CANT LET NOTHING BREAK THIS BEAT.”
See. She likes it.
DONT WANNA THINK ABOUT IT
DONT WANNA TALK ABOUT IT
My personaly favorite track of the EP is the title track “Supersonique” which comes complete with the word stutters featured in tracks as We R Who We R. You know…DANCING TILL WE’RE NUMB NUMB NA NA NA NUMB.
Except in this case its TAKE ME AWAY AY AY AY AY AY AY AY AYYYYYYYYYY. People like shit like that. They can easily start singing a long to a song where shit repeats a lot. Watch Beyonce’ try it.
WHY DONT YOU TAKE ME AWAYYYYY
AY AY AY AY AY AY AY AY AY AY.
Look up Jada. Especially if you’re from the Boston area. Support them home girls. Plus my friend Ari (WHO NEGLECTED TO TELL ME) is a backup dancer for them. Which is BADASS.
